Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Software Development to lead the creation of innovative, user-centric solutions on the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Salesforce development, particularly Apex, as well as a deep understanding of information architecture (IA) and user experience (UX) design principles. This is a strategic role driving the development of applications that will enhance business processes, improve customer experiences, and support our company's growth.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide overall technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to a team of Salesforce developers, architects, and UX designers (both internal and partner resources).
• Salesforce Solutions: Design and implement highly scalable, customizable, and efficient Salesforce applications and extensions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and other relevant technologies.
• User-Centered Design: Collaborate with the design team to incorporate IA/UX best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring intuitive and engaging user experiences.
• Agile Development: Lead development teams using Agile methodologies, promoting iterative development and continuous improvement.
• DevOps Integration: Champion the integration of Salesforce development into a CI/CD pipeline, streamlining development processes and release cycles.
• Best Practices: Stay abreast of Salesforce platform updates, development trends, how to enforce coding standards and security best practices across teams.
• Talent Development: Actively recruit, develop, and retain top-tier software development talent.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and SOQL.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, user-friendly Salesforce solutions.
• Solid understanding of IA/UX principles and user-centered design methodologies.
• Experience leading agile development teams and managing complex software projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Desired Skills:

• Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer, Architect, etc.).
• Workday knowledge, specifically with the HCM and Finance SKUs.
• Experience with Salesforce Lightning Experience and integration with external systems.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
• Familiarity with UI/UX design tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
